COATS FABRA,
a century in the history of a leader in the haberdashery trade
On April 22, 2003, Compañía Anónima Hilaturas de Fabra y Coats (currently Coats Fabra S.A.) celebrated
its 100th anniversary. The company’s celebration event held in the same building where a century ago the
company first started operating. It was attended by the President of the Catalan Generalitat, Mr. Jordi Pujol
and over one thousand other attendants. The book, published for this very special occasion, was shown
and give to the generations alive during the ceremony.
The editor, José Fernández Martorell gave me the opportunity to work hand to hand with him to achieve what
was my first book published as a publishing designer. The job description was to implement all my skills in
publishing design and new achivements were born to give life to a century in the history of a leader in the
haberdashery trade.
Editorial Interpress S.L taught me what really means publishing design. From the very beginning, hard work
and client bests interest ‘till the attendance to the event to feel the satisfaction of a well-done job.
